Frequently Asked Questions

General Information

Q: Are your products authentic?

100%! We source from and work directly with the official brands featured in our catalogue and their global partners. All are products are also registered with the Philippines FDA, so you know you're getting legitimate (and safe to use!) goods.

Q: Do you exclusively sell Korean skincare?

It looks that way right now, but no. Our curation criteria is not limited by geographical origins, so we hope to include more products coming from different places in the future.

Q: What does the date printed at the bottom of my product mean?

Some products have the manufacturing date labelled on them, while others have the expiry date stamped. If it follows the character '제조', then it is the manufacturing date. Skincare products typically expire in 12 months after opening and 30 months after manufacture.

Q: Can I get free samples with my order?

Sorry, we currently don't offer samples with orders. We would like to avoid giving out products stored in single-use plastic sachets to minimise waste. If you'd like to patch-test our products, follow us on Instagram (@ontheglow_ph) and stay tuned for pop-up announcements! ;)

Curation Criteria Questions

Q: Why do you allow fragrance in products if you're curating 'clean' skincare?

Fragrance is typically added to mask pungent smells in formulations or to elevate the sensorial experience of applying skincare. So long as it isn't excessive (i.e. placed high in the ingredients list, thus distributed in high amounts), and your skin can handle it, fragrance - be it artificial or essential oils-based - is not something to immediately fear in your skincare.

That said, we understand if you know your skin is bothered by artificial fragrance or essential oils—which is why you can browse our Fragrance-Free and No Essential Oils tags for options more suited to your skin condition.

Q: I heard alcohol is bad in skincare. Should I be worried about it?

The short answer is no. There are two common types of alcohol in skincare: fatty alcohols (e.g. cetearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol), which have moisturising and nourishing properties, and simple alcohols (e.g. alcohol, alcohol denat), which have antibacterial, antiseptic, astringent properties. Alcohol has many uses in skincare, and either type, when formulated purposefully, is not automatically harmful to your skin. It can even be helpful for certain skin concerns (e.g. oily skin, acne).

Q: When are you going to put out sunscreens?

Soon! We're working on it. :)
